Fabric Mods > Removing VoxelMap cache folder
Removing VoxelMap cache folder
If you played on the old 1.16.5 world with VoxelMap installed, you will need to remove your VoxelMap cache folder from your game files to prevent the old data conflicting with the new data that will be generated as you explore the 1.19 world.
Instructions
First, locate the files.
Go to your .minecraft folder, and there should be a folder simply called 'voxelmap'.
You will also need to go to your mods folder inside of .minecraft, and if there is a folder called 'mamiyaotaru' (name of VoxelMap's author), you should treat it the same way you do the 'voxelmap' folder. If you don't have this folder, don't worry about it.
Second, find where you are going to store the files.
You're going to need somewhere to keep these files. Create a folder somewhere where you're going to be able to find it, and put it in there.
For example, you could create a folder on your desktop called "VoxelMap Cache" and put the folders inside of there. As long as they aren't in your .minecraft folder, you'll be fine.
Third, move the folders from .minecraft into the folder you created.
Fourth, get rid of your old waypoints.
To get rid of your saved waypoints, it seems like you will need to delete them manually.
When I was first writing this guide, it seemed obvious that deleting the cache folder would get rid of your waypoints, as it housed a file called *server-ip*.points. Doing this also erased the waypoints for me, so I was confident that this was the case. However, it has been brought to my attention that this is not the case. I tried looking for the file, but after searching through my entire .minecraft folder of my 1.19 instance, I found absolutely nothing. For now, the only way to get rid of them is to delete them manually. Sorry for the trouble.
All done :)
